This talk will explore the significant contributions Black women have made to various phases of the Black freedom struggle. Examining the ways that Black women provided both support and leadership, Dr. Morris will illuminate their centrality to the survival and progress of their communities and Black freedom movements

Tiyi M. Morris is Associate Professor of African American and African Studies and a co-founder/co-director of the Ohio Prison Education Exchange Project (OPEEP). She is a Civil Rights historian who studies Black women’s social and political activism.
