We are reading Horse by Geraldine Brooks this month.  The story unfolds against the backdrop of the beginnings of the Civil War.  A young bay foal is born in Kentucky and will go on to be a racehorse of renown thanks to the attention and kindness of his enslaved groom.  A painter grows in fame due to his portraits of the horse.  When war erupts they reunite under very different circumstances.  Join us to discuss!
